Leigh Street within the Jackson Ward of Richmond, Virginia was known to have grown a strong African-American community filled with vibrant restaurants and benevolent organizations which created a booming economy for a rather small town. The Leigh Street Pharmacy centrally located within the ward was an area of gathering for many of the community’s members.
